Stage 1-Age 2-6 (Golden Foundation):Students will build a solid foundation in Basic Interactive Communication Skills(BICS).
Stage 2--Age 7-9(Objective Achievement):Students develop Cognitive Academic Language Proficiency (CALP) through acquisition of content reading.
Stage 3--Age 10-12(Competency Beyond):Students apply critical thinking skills in studies of all core curricula. They will continue to develop Cognitive Academic Language Proficiency (CALP), and demonstrate mastery in Common Core State Standards (CCSS).

The Common Core State Standards (CCSS) are one of the most significant initiatives in American education in the 21st century. The CCSS are developed in response to increasing demands and requirements for content knowledge and reading complexity in reading, math and science in entry-level college courses at universities across the country, including Ivy League schools such as Harvard University and Columbia University. We believe that all levels of students can (and should) engage in critical thinking. Language barriers and limited knowledge of subject matter should not restrict students from this important work. Critical thinking is a vital component to 21st century skills and the foundation to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS).
